CS1708i / CS1716i
All-in-One Over-IP Server Management Solution
The CS1708i and CS1716i KVM switches are IP-based KVM control units that allow both local and remote operators to monitor
and access multiple computers from a single console. Since the CS1708i / CS1716i uses TCP/IP for its communications protocol,
it can be accessed from any computer on the Net, whether that computer is located down the hall, down the street, or half-
way around the world.
CN8000
Provides Over-IP Capability for KVM Switches
The CN8000 is an affordable appliance that’s perfect for the small racks in the data center that do not have built-in IP
functionality. An external Over-IP solution that adds a remote user to any KVM installation, it allows operators to monitor and
access their computers from any location using a standard Internet browser or Windows and Java based application programs.
s#ONlGURATIONAND/PERATION%ASE
An easy-to-navigate graphical user interface makes for convenient, intuitive configuration and operation. A web-based
implementation allows the remote equipment to be controlled from industry-standard web browsers. Windows and Java AP
client software – using the same, convenient, GUI – are also included to provide access where a browser environment is not
desired.
s2EMOTEDESKTOPSCALING
The remote desktop can appear full-screen, or in a window.
s-ULTI+EYBOARD,ANGUAGE3UPPORT/N3CREEN+EYBOARD
KVM on the Net devices support multiple keyboard language input – including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish,
Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese. There is no need to have a separate keyboard for each language – you can input
key data in any of these languages with the convenient on-screen keyboard.
s%XTERNAL!UTHENTICATION3UPPORT
In addition to its own security protection, it allows you to set up log in authentication and authorization management from a
external sources such as RADIUS, LDAP, LDAPS, and MS Active Directory.
s3ERIAL#ONSOLE-ANAGEMENT
Serial terminal access, access via a built-in serial viewer, or via third party software (such as PuTTY) for Telnet and SSH
sessions.
s-OUSE$YNA3YNC
Automatically synchronizes the local and remote mouse movements for perfect alignment of mouse pointers, regardless of
server mouse acceleration settings.
s6IRTUAL-EDIA
Virtual Media support lets you map DVD/CD-ROMs and other storage media to a remote server. This function allows you to
conduct fi le transfers, application and OS patches, and diagnostics remotely
.
s3MART#ARD2EADER
The smart card reader function allows a reader plugged into a local client computer’s USB port to be redirected, and appear
as if it were plugged into the remote server.
s-ESSAGE"OARD
To alleviate the problem of access confl icts arising from multiple logins, the Message Board functions like an Internet chat
program, allowing users who are logged in to instantly communicate with each other
s0ANEL!RRAY-ODE
Panel array mode permits simultaneous monitoring of the video output of the installations’ servers. Operators can monitor
the screen display of up to 16 servers per switch for real-time server monitoring
Not all products support these features. Please see the specifi cations on page 10 for details.
